Oscar nominated film for Best Foreign Language Film Category at the 87th Academy Awards, directed by renown director Oles Sanin, “The Guide” or “Povodyr” is a Ukrainian film with English subtitles and will be presented at the Ukrainian Cultural Center in Chicago. With the Holodomor as the backdrop, this riveting film takes place in Ukraine in the early 1930’s during the time of industrialization, collectivization and the liquidation of intellectuals.
Come to view this Oscar nominated film and meet 11 year old actor Anton Sviatoslav Greene, director Oles Sanin, and Professor Yuri Shevchuk of Columbia University who will moderate the post film review. A reception will follow.
